Media Students of Cairo University Launch “Roots” – a Roof-planting Awareness Campaign

“Roots”… Media students of Cairo university launch a campaign to raise awareness on the importance of roofplanting.

Fourth year students at the Faculty of Mass Communication, Cairo University, launched a social campaign called “Roots”, within the framework of their graduation project.

The campaign  aims to correct the misinterpretation of Roof planting, which means planting any suitable area inside or outside homes (balconies – rooftops).

The students of the group highlight the impact of roof planting  on the climate, as it will contribute in reducing the negative impacts of climate change and global warming in the future, in order to give the future generations an opportunity to live in a suitable and less polluted environment. The campaign also sheds light on the psychological, health and economic benefits of Roof planting.

It is worth noting that the “Roots” campaign received honorary sponsorship from the “Harraz farm & garden” online stores, in addition to the “Shaggarha” initiative, the “Ezraa be eedak” initiative, the “Green Pyramid” initiative, Nappta project, The Greenery, and Zaraat Balcona.

The campaign came under the supervision of Dr. Iman Taher (supervisor of the graduation projects of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising), and Dr. Asmaa Abdel Raouf.
