Top 4 Podcasts You Should Totally Check Out

Writer: Marwan Mohamed

Since I’m writing this on Saturday, aka submissions day, and I have absolutely no topics to talk about, I decided to make a list about my favorite podcasts. I’m not a huge fan of podcasts, in general, but these caught my attention and I thought I had to share them.

Serial

Serial is a podcast brought to us by This American Life and hosted by Sarah Koenig. It’s an investigative journalism podcast which unfolds real, nonfictional stories. The podcast follows the story wherever it leads. Sarah doesn’t know what happens at the end of the story until she gets there, not long before we get there with her. The podcast will surely keep you interested and striving for more. I recommend listening to season one as it’s my favorite; however, season two is way more interesting and exciting. It has been over a year since their last episode aired, with season four’s airing date undetermined yet, but I’ll be waiting for it for sure!

Ear biscuits

Who doesn’t know Rhett and link? The famous hosts of good mythical morning on YouTube? Anyone? Guys? Well, you may not know them, but you surely will love them! Ear biscuits is a podcast hosted by Rhett and link, the creators of Good Mythical Morning, a YouTube show. The podcast doesn’t have a specific theme, the episodes range from them telling stories to saying their opinions about stuff. The podcast has a funny, light theme and it’s going to entertain you in those boring, long car rides, or when you just need a laugh.

Undisclosed

Similar to Serial, Undisclosed takes you through the re-investigating of seemingly wrongful convictions in the U.S. criminal justice system. By taking a closer look at the investigation process, the trial and the verdict, and sometimes they find new evidence in a disclosed case, leading to maybe the reopening of that case again! The show is similar to Serial, and that’s not a bad thing!

TED TALKS DAILY

TED Talks in audio format, do I really need to elaborate? It’s your usual inspiring TED Talks in audio format, so they would be easier to listen to on the go or while doing something. This one is a must on your podcasts list!

So, that’s it! These are my favorite four podcasts. I listen to these while training or when I’m on my bed, trying to sleep or when I know that I’m gonna be stuck somewhere for too long. I hope you will find at least one of these interesting. Podcasts are sort of a trial and error situation; you have to try some so you would know what you like and what suits you, so, go to that app you never use and start discovering!
