Domestic Violence Against Men

“Tell the world, Johnny Depp. Say I, Johnny Depp, a man, am a victim of domestic violence and see how many people will believe you,” said Amber Heard, Johnny Depp’s ex-wife, on one of many recorded clips of her admitting to her guilt. Here the truth finally came out.

It is so sad to know that just because it is a man in this position, his pain is automatically belittled. Amber Heard knew she’d get away with claiming, falsely, to have been a victim of domestic violence in her op-ed on The Sun magazine, because she is a woman.

Months after the couple separated, Amber Heard took it upon herself to write an op-ed on The Sun, claiming to have become a “public figure representing domestic violence.” This article lead to mishap in Johnny Depp’s career, and personal life, when people started to label him a “wife-beater”, resulting in his loss of his role as Grindelwald in the Harry Potter universe, and his leading role as Captain JackSparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean. These claims against him had put a label by his name, and Disney, along with JK Rowling did not want to be involved with the “wife-beater”.

It was so simple for her to come out and claim she’d been abused, hit, and assaulted; she is a woman after all. We would later come to find out that these claims were in fact blatant lies.

We are now on day 11 of the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial. So far, the evidence brought to court has finally surfaced with the truth, showing Amber Heard’s true colors, and highlighting the severity of what Johnny Depp had to endure.

Not only was Heard lying about the abuse, she’d also been the one doing the abusing. Recorded footage of her was played, where she was responding to Johnny Depp saying she’d punched him. Her response was, “I didn’t punch you, by the way. I’m sorry that I didn’t hit you across the face in a proper slap, but I was hitting you. I was not punching you. Babe… you are not punched,” and proceeded to add to that, all the while admitting that she did in fact hit him.

Over the course of their relationship, Johnny Depp was seen in public with numerous injuries, ranging from bruises on his face, to his partially severed right-hand middle finger, which he admitted to calling “Little Richard.” You know, humor to cope with the pain? We’ve all been there.

It was proven that on the night he sustained that brutal injury, Amber Heard had left human feces on the bed of their shared penthouse in Los Angeles.

Somehow, you may have reason to believe this ongoing statement that their relationship tended to get physical, as said by Heard, was actually not one-sided, even after all the proof against the matter. However, Amber Heard lost our sympathy and leniency when her attorney exposed her lies.

Heard’s own attorney stood before the jury and held out a concealer palette. Her assertion was that this palette was the one Heard had used to cover her “injuries” throughout the entirety of her relationship with Johnny Depp, from 2014 to 2016, when in truth, the palette held by the attorney had only come out months later in late 2017.

This only continued to prove the numerous lies Amber Heard had claimed against Johnny Depp.

To sum up, apart from the fact that Amber Heard completely ruined Johnny Depp’s career, and life, with her claims, she’d been the one abusing him all along. The sad thing is, she was so easy to believe, what-with the society we live in and it’s belittlement to the idea of domestic abuse against men. She got away with it for years, and now that the truth is finally coming out, I hope we reflect on ourselves. It is not uncommon for men to suffer from domestic violence, and violence is general, and it is our role to make sure we know that their worries have to be taken into consideration too.
