How to: Start Your Summer the Right Way

Writer: Johnny Abi Younis

School’s over, and now that summer started, we all want to have as much fun as we could. Here are a few tips on how to organize your summer:1-Make a bucket list.It sure is important to know what you want to do in order to know when you want to do it. Start off by making a list of activities you’d like to do, places you’d like to visit, or things you want to buy. You could also add on the list the least details. In that case, not only you’ll know what you’ve accomplished by the end of the summer, but you’ll also know what you need to accomplish next summer.2-Make a schedule. After you’ve made your bucket list, you could start off by deciding when to make your plans come to life. Prepare each week in advance, considering the locations of the places you’re gonna visit. For example, if the mall’s near to the swimming pool, you could perhaps go shopping, then swimming the same day. Do not pick places far from each other, for you don’t want to get stuck in traffic and/or waste your day on the road.3. Pay close attention to your budget. You, for sure, don’t want to run out of money when you’re on a night out with your squad, or when you’re treating your partner for a dinner. Therefore, estimate the amount of money you’re gonna spend in advance, and make sure it isn’t greater than your income, and in case you’ve saved up money for your vacation, make sure to distribute it fairly on your summer, and make the best use of it.4. Navigate through all the information you need.Whatever the place you are visitng is, you need to know everything about it. You could either ask someone who’s gone there before, if you haven’t gone, or go the easy way: google it up. Know the location, the weather, how long it’ll take to get there, and always make sure that there are restaurants and stores around. Also do not forget to check the reviews regarding the service, the cleanliness, and the entourage.5. Always be ready. It is better to always have what you need or might need. It would do no harm to carry around a bag that contains a first aid kid, pain medicine, and a set of clothes and underwears, shoes and/or slippers in case you need to change. You might also consider taking food, sweets, and water in case you’re going for a long walk or a hike.6. Do not lock yourself.Whether you’re picking a summer job or you’re just not in your best shape to go out, do not stay in. You need to get out and enjoy the most out of it. As for the people who want to go out but don’t have anyone to go out with, they could read under a tree in the park or go for a hike while blasting music and jamming to their favorite songs, or simply go to the roof at night and stargaze. If you still don’t know what to do this summer, take these things into consideration:• Do challenging activities, as they aren’t just hard to do but the rewards are also great.• Try something new, since you don’t always have the time to try new things.• Be social, meet new people, and make new friends.• Eat healthy and exercise. It is optional, but just pointing it out for the people who need asmall push to do so.• Take a break. It is always great to stop for a moment and think about whats going on, especially during summer, where you could really figure out what you want that way.
