Taught by Sherlock Holmes

“You have a grand gift for silence, Watson. It makes you quite invaluable as a companion.” He taught us that it is another form of intimacy to sit in silence with someone sometimes; the quietness is all we need.

”You see, but you do not observe.”
How many times have you walked up these stairs, through these doors, and up and down these buildings? Yet, if I ask you how may stairs, how many doors, or how many floors are in that building, you won’t even know. Therefore, you seem to see but you do not observe.

”When you have eliminated all the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.” Sometimes, what we believe about the truth is in fact the utter lie. We need to remove all second probabilities to reach the one and only truth.

”I’ve always assumed that love is a dangerous disadvantage. Thank you for the final proof.” He taught us here that we should not be blinded by love, as it may end up hurting us.

”My name is Sherlock Holmes; it is my busses to know what other people don’t know.” And finally, he taught us curiosity. He showed us that the need to know the unknown can fill us as human beings.
