How to Start Living not Just Existing

Looking back at the moments that made us realize that we are stuck in place, we tasked ourselves to find more to life and if we can make the most out of it even with the very little willpower that we had. And we thought, oh well, why not share the experience and try to guide you in stopping the cycle and start living instead of just barely existing by presenting you with the shared key tips we came up with.

Do not let go of your ongoing routine!

You do not need to stop what you’re doing right now to feel better about who you are and you do not need to redo your whole routine in order to have the sense of ‘living.’ Following the ‘That man’ or ‘That girl’ trend or any lifestyle trend can break the vision of what a healthy routine looks like. All you need to do instead of throwing away your routine is adding things that excite you. It’s either you break the unhealthy cycle that keeps you feeling stuck over and over again, or it will break you. And it’s important to note that we are not talking about breaking a good and healthy routine, but we are talking about the routine that makes you feel stagnant and shackles you from moving towards a better you. We are suggesting that you actively tweak and try to add things to your routine that makes you feel alive. These habits can look so dull like taking vitamins or drinking a lot of water or making sure to not be glued to your phone, but these can actually push you to be a livelier person.

Ask yourself questions

We know a lot of people do not want to have to sit down and face their true selves, but in this stage of life, you absolutely have to ask yourself a lot of questions. This round of questions may make you really love life.

Ask yourself the following:

  • What excites me?
  • What makes me want to wake up in the morning?
  • What can I do to have more fun with the people around me?

Actively plan to do something out of your comfort zone

We know over the years we saw so many versions of how someone can get out of their comfort zone, but the massive surprise is you make it how it fits you. You have to think about it in a realistic manner since imagination may be pleasant, but is it enough of a motive to make changes? Absolutely not, and if you really think about it, a lot of people settle for having the image of what their lives could look like instead of making this shared fantasy a reality. We often take the easy route, but we must ask if the easy route is the best route, and if not, how can we make the best route easier. We can start by asking if this route will make you feel beyond this world. This route can be the one that you have to climb up to or the one with the hidden light at the end of the tunnel.

Since we do not have a specific timeline in our lives, we cannot actively compare our point A to point B, and with that how can someone profoundly change their life without knowing how it changes them. You do not need to fit someone else’s ideal. For one person, getting out of their comfort zone is to go bowling with their friends instead of just hanging out in a café. For another person it is to finally asking out the guy they had been daydreaming (and almost drooling over) for months. And through the journey of becoming a better you and tweaking your routine, life may not lose its color in your line of vision.
